Italo Ferretti responds to the Italian Fashion Industrial Federation call, and reconverts production into masks, scrubs and white coats

Yet another fashion company takes the field for the production of hygiene masks and white coats: Italo Ferretti, a leading textile company in Abruzzo Region since 1967, well known for being the Brioni ties creator and for its luxury ties and silk accessories, responds to Confindustria Moda’s call (Italian Fashion Industrial Federation) and joins the fashion companies which in recent weeks are reconverting their production. The project to which the most important fashion companies already joined: Armani, Lamborghini, FCA, Ferrari, Miroglio, Prada, are just a few.

Carlo Ferretti, at the helm of the company, talks about this decision: “From high fashion accessories and clothing to protective masks, i.e. the real luxury in these weeks of sanitary emergency. Considering the growing demand for individual protection devices, we thought of our employees, our fellow citizens, our Abruzzo Region. Men and women who continue to go to work to guarantee us all the essential services and who need PPE (personal protective equipment). Therefore we decided to make our artisan know-how available to provide concrete support. The masks made with three layers of non-woven fabric are washable, reusable and respond to the technical indications, addressed to companies in production-conversion, which the government provided on materials and layers. At the moment we are able to produce about a thousand face masks a day, with the forecast of increasing it by the end of April. ”

We also wanted to add, given the request from some of our historical customers, a version of masks suited to the core of our company, the fashion world, i.e. 100% silk masks. Our silk masks, more sustainable than the disposable surgical ones, they have two adjustable and replaceable 100% cotton filters, they are washable and they come with motifs, designs, patterns, and decorations straight from the thousands of Italo Ferretti fabrics. These new creations come in sizes for the whole family, men, women, and children. The masks are obviously inspired by the best tailoring tradition of our country and the handmade production takes place inside the headquarters of Silvi Marina, Abruzzo, just like all our products.
